JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – President Prabowo Subianto began his term in office by welcoming nine foreign dignitaries at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday. The ceremonial reception marked a significant occasion as it showcased Indonesia’s commitment to international diplomacy right from the start of his presidency.

The ceremonial reception took place from 3:53 PM to 5:27 PM local time. It was structured in multiple segments, allowing for meaningful interactions between President Prabowo and the visiting leaders. This format aimed to foster closer ties and mutual understanding among the nations represented.

According to Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communications Office, the leaders were in attendance for the inauguration ceremony earlier in the day. This gathering highlighted the importance of the event, bringing together leaders from various countries to show support for Indonesia’s new administration.

The distinguished guests included several notable figures: Pany Yathotou, Vice President of Laos; Richard Marles, Deputy Prime Minister of Australia; James Marape, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea; and Winston Peters, Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand. The presence of these leaders underscored the significance of international partnerships.

Also in attendance were Han Zheng, Vice President of China; Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Singapore; Han Duck-soo, Prime Minister of South Korea; Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Prime Minister of Vanuatu; and David Lammy, UK Foreign Secretary. Their participation reflects a diverse array of diplomatic relationships that Indonesia seeks to strengthen.

Following the reception, President Prabowo is scheduled to announce his cabinet formation. This announcement is highly anticipated and will follow a gala dinner at the Merdeka Palace, set to take place from 7:00 PM to 7:50 PM. The event will further highlight the new administration’s direction.

The gala dinner will commence with the singing of “Indonesia Raya,” the national anthem, followed by a traditional welcoming dance. These cultural elements aim to celebrate Indonesia’s rich heritage while engaging with the international community.

In addition to the dinner, President Prabowo will deliver a speech outlining his vision for the future. The evening will feature performances by the University of Defense Orchestra and a video presentation that offers an overview of Indonesia’s aspirations under his leadership.
